Sunset – The High Point of a Key West Day

One of the main attractions of a Key West Tour is the awesome sunsets. The skies in this part of the world are

always clear, and air is so fresh and clean you sometimes feel like you are breathing pure oxygen. As the sun

goes down, the skies start to turn gold. It begins with small streaks of gold amidst the canvas of blue, and every

minute more and more gold appears. Until the sun finally dips into the sea with a glorious golden goodbye.

Another beautiful Key West day has come to an end.

There are so many ways to celebrate this event. The one that comes to mind first, is the Sunset Celebration at

Malory Square – that Carnival-like celebration, full of fun, festivities, music, dance, and carefree celebration. It

happens every night, at Mallory Square. But there are many other ways that you can celebrate the Sunset on

each different evening of you Key West tour.

On the first evening of your Key West tour, you can take a Sunset cruise (in fact, take one that includes a live

band and dinner). There’s nothing quite like watching the shimmering reflection of the setting sun, out on the

water…with soft Caribbean/Bahaman music playing, as you munch on crispy, conch fritters, or dine on a well

prepared dish of Hogfish, or Mahi Mahi. If your luck is in, you might even get to share the sunset with a

dolphin couple doing sky hops as they too celebrate this glorious event.

On another evening of your Key West tour, be adventurous. Come sunset, take a kayak out into the sea, or into

the mangroves. You may get to share the sunset with the myriad birds perched on the trees and the tropical fish

swimming in the waters.

Some people prefer to spend the sunsets of their Key West Tour, snorkeling. They set out before sunset and stay

there till the sun goes down. The combination of the clear waters and the gold of a setting sun, is heavenly.

Made even more memorable if you spot a sea turtle, or dolphin out there, saluting the setting sun, just like you

do.

So make every sunset of your Key West Tour count as a special memory. Choose to just take a walk, or go

fishing. The fishing galleries on the many different bridges are golden spots to watch the sunset, maybe even

catch a few, nice big, Mahi Mahi that you can grill/barbecue for dinner.

Speaking of barbecues, a sunset barbecue on the beach is a guaranteed “never to be a forgotten moment event”

There are so many different beaches to choose from.

Sunset Key – a whole island dedicated to the gorgeous Keys’ Sunsets

On Sunset Key, there’s a 27-acre luxury resort that is often referred to as an “island off an island” near Key

West. Since it’s in the north, on the way to Key West, it’s sometimes called the “Gateway to Key West.” You

can rent 2, 3, or 4 bedroom cottages here.

These beautiful Victorian style beach cottages, with classic tin roofs, capture the very essence of Key West.

You will just love the casual Key West lifestyle, especially the tranquility and charm. From your porch/or your

windows, soak in the panoramic views of the sea and the beach… and yes, make the most of the glorious

sunsets.

Whatever you plan to do on your Key West tour, come sunset, you’ll be enchanted, by Florida’s setting sun.
